Tesco are one of the worlds leading international retailers. Responsive and innovative, they are quick to recognise and respond to social change. Tesco are pioneering the trial of the Foundation Degree for Retail, a two year programme. This shows great commitment and vision from Tesco’s and their employees. Students who participate in this programme are given the opportunity to follow an academic path whist remaining in full time employment and gaining practical skills on the sales floor. Some students have an academic background whilst others have learnt their trade on the shop floor. For both it is the chance to demonstrate the ability to take on new theories and put them into practice, share learning with their peers and stretch the Tesco ways of doing things. As a qualification it aims to raise industry standards and promote cross fertilization of skills and knowledge ultimately raising the bar for the whole of the sector.

We work alongside the High School students aged from 16 to 18 delivering Master Classes for their Diploma Programme in Business Management for both standard and higher lever students. The school is pro-active in seeking out business partners that will bring mutually beneficial results as part of their relationship. Looking outside of the school for partnerships brings relevant business experiences to the students, giving them the advantage of having real life scenarios and case studies to bring their studies and theories to life. Many of their students move very successfully into higher education and careers.
